Job Overview

Colas Rail UK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated OTM Driver/Fitter/Operator to join our team. As a key member of our rail plant maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our OTM fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Book on and off duty at the designated time and place, as directed by the duty manager or senior production manager.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as supplied and maintain a safe and competent working standard.
  • Communicate effectively with the Rail Plant Control Room and Help Desk, both verbally and in writing.
  • Carry out emergency procedures as required and absorb and retain knowledge trained on.
  • Operate OTMs in accordance with Railway Standards and report any service faults or failures immediately to the Rail Plant Control Desk.
  • Assist specialist fitter staff with maintenance and safety checks, and carry out all aspects of maintenance and repair work.

Person Specification

  • Good knowledge of computer and phone skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Flexible, honest, and punctual, with a clean full and valid road vehicle driving license.
  • Certified in Vehicle, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude, with a willingness to continue learning and be trained.
  • Able to perform weekend and night shift duties, with a mechanical aptitude and team worker skills.
