OTM Driver/Fitter/Operator

Job Description
As a key member of our team at Colas Rail UK, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our OTM fleet. This role requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Book on and off duty at the designated time and place, as directed by the duty manager or senior production manager.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as supplied and maintain a safe and competent working standard.
- Communicate effectively with the Rail Plant Control Room and Help Desk, both verbally and in writing.
- Carry out emergency procedures as required and absorb and retain knowledge trained on.
- Operate OTMs in accordance with Railway Standards and report any service faults or failures to the Rail Plant Control Desk.
- Assist specialist fitter staff with maintenance and safety checks, and complete all aspects of maintenance under the Maintenance Fitter Assessment Scheme.
Person Specification
- Good knowledge of computer and phone skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Flexible, honest, and punctual, with a clean full and valid road vehicle driving license.
- Certified in Vehicle, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude, with a willingness to continue learning and be trained.
- Able to perform weekend and night shift duties, with a mechanical aptitude and team worker skills.
