The ideal candidate will be an experienced individual with a wealth of payroll experience, looking for a challenging role as a Payroll and Pensions Services Manager. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the payroll and pension service including ESR, NHS terms and conditions and statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SAP, Student Loans and Attachment of Earning orders.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of staff, ensuring training needs are met and appraisals and performance issues are effectively managed. You will also be responsible for the application of service centre procedures and practices with a good understanding of client organisation policies and statutory regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all agreed audit report management action points are implemented in a timely manner
  • Organising the smooth day-to-day running of the payroll and benefits service, liaising with client department managers and staff as required to ensure that all client employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner
  • Implementing any changes, as instructed, following the receipt of NHS HR/Payroll system user notices and supporting the Payroll & Benefits Manager by monitoring any service requests raised with the system provider
