About the Role

This role involves supporting the Payroll Manager in managing/supervising a payroll team, assigning tasks, and ensuring the performance of each staff member through appraisals and training. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day workflow and distribution of client portfolios, resolving any issues related to payroll, and overseeing payroll payments and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the payroll team's workload and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Ensure that all payroll payments and account reconciliations are accurately processed and reviewed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring they receive exceptional service.
  • Assist with complex payroll calculations and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of payroll legislation, processing, and auto-enrolment regulations.
  • Experience using IRIS Payroll Professional and working in a Bureau environment would be highly desirable.
  • Strong management experience of managing a payroll team and client portfolios, conducting appraisals, and providing training.
  • The ability to manually calculate a payroll.
  • End-to-end payroll experience, with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Ideal candidates will have a CIPP Foundation degree qualification or equivalent.
