Quantity Surveyor for M&E Projects

We are working with a prominent regional contractor specializing in delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical services across the UK. Their projects span a wide range of sectors, including commercial and retail.
Role Overview:
- You will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of mechanical and electrical services on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tenders for M&E services
- Cost Control: Conduct detailed measurement and valuation of works, ensuring accurate pricing
- Contract Management: Manage subcontractor packages, including procurement, payment applications, and performance evaluations
- Project Monitoring: Monitor and report on project progress, providing financial forecasts and cash flow analysis
- Variation Management: Identify and manage variations, ensuring they are accurately recorded and valued
- Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Financial Advice: Provide ongoing financial advice and support to project teams, ensuring profitability
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a contractor environment
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services or the construction industry
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and financial management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure
- Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
