Job Description


This is a three-year master's programme that blends learning and practice. You will gain a postgraduate diploma within 12 months and develop skills to connect with children, young people, parents, and carers. You will learn how to build trust, gain technical knowledge, and enhance your relational skills.


Your Journey as a Trainee Social Worker


The programme consists of three years, with each year building on your skills and confidence:



  • In Year 1, you will undergo intense online study and begin your 12-month placement in a local council social work team.
  • In Year 2, you will manage your own caseload, engage in ongoing study, and receive continued support from Frontline tutors and your employer.
  • In Year 3, you will conduct a research project and complete the academic credits needed for your fully-funded social work master's degree.

What We Are Looking For


We are seeking individuals who demonstrate potential to become outstanding children's social workers and leaders. No specific experience is required to apply, but you must meet the following criteria:



  • Have at least a 2.2 (predicted or obtained) undergraduate honours degree or international equivalent.
  • Obtain GCSE English Language at Grade C/4 or above or approved equivalent qualification.
  • Possess the right to work and study in the UK for the duration of the programme.
  • Be resident in England by the time the programme commences.
  • Not be a qualified social worker.
