Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Trading Director to join our Buyside Trading Solutions Team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior professional to make a significant impact in the financial services industry.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of executing complex order flow, supporting BNY internal asset management clients and adhering to best execution procedures. This role involves collaborating with investment teams, trade support, quant research, and engineering teams to evolve trading practices and ensure efficient implementation of investment decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Dealings
    • Perform dealing activities in support of a multi-asset book of business.
    • Monitor quality of execution in real-time and manage risk of execution through trade completion.
  • Management
    • Lead a team of trading professionals who support a range of internal clients, such as portfolio managers, client service, and compliance.
    • Originate inventive trading solutions rooted in technology and quant research.
    • Develop detailed business requirements and work closely with project management and technology teams to map requirements to technical specifications and drive implementation.
    • Facilitate analysis of client and business needs and manage related documentation.
    • Guide the team's production of management reporting and analyses.
    • Establish and document operating procedures in support of daily trading activities.
    • Explain trading and technical concepts and analyses to non-trading, non-technical audiences.
  • Benchmarking
    • C coordinate participation in trading benchmark surveys.
    • Collaborate with consultants/benchmark vendors to review and update survey questions to reflect relevant industry trends.
    • Leverage existing relationships with consultants/benchmark vendors to increase breadth and depth of relevant benchmarking data regarding brokerage practices, commission usage, and order handling practices.
    • Manage internal record of benchmarking data and monitor tracking reports for indicated changes.

Requirements:

  • Deep practical experience with Institutional Trading, TCA, Commission Management, and Regulation.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully reporting across asset classes, globally.
  • Expertise in dealing with large data sets and strong problem-solving skills.
