Special Needs Education Assistant

We are currently seeking a Relief Teaching Assistant to join our team at Portfield School in Bournemouth.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our experienced leadership team to provide tailored support to our students, helping them to reach their full potential.
About the Role
This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires flexibility, enthusiasm, and resilience. As a Relief Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting our students in a class of up to 9, assisting with lesson preparation, and delivering the curriculum.
You will also have the opportunity to work with specialist facilities such as our therapy pool and sensory rooms, creating unique and inspiring environments for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students with autism and other learning complexities in a classroom setting
- Assisting with lesson preparation and delivery
- Providing individualized support to students
- Recording and reporting student progress and achievements
Requirements
- GCSE grades A* - C (9- 4) in Maths & English - desirable
- Ability to adapt to different learning environments
- Fun and supportive nature
- Comfortable getting into shallow water with students
- Good understanding of mental health
- Physical fitness and ability to participate in activities required

Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 per annum (£14.29 - £16.07 per hour)
