About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Global Travel Manager to join our Finance Team in Edinburgh.

This permanent role will involve the management of travel across all our business areas, working closely with the TMC to ensure a seamless experience for our staff.

The successful candidate will have experience in booking and managing domestic and international travel services, with a proven track record of managing travel services and their provision through a TMC.

  • Coordinate training for EA/PAs, Business Managers, and wider business to enable self-service travel booking and reporting.
  • Act as an approver for travel bookings and monitor passive notifications, liaising with bookers, travellers, and approvers as needed.
  • Work with the TMC to provide effective out-of-hours cover for travellers across time zones.
  • Manage the regional relationship with the TMC, monitoring service levels and escalating issues as required.
  • Support large events, VIPs, guests, and clients with travel bookings, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Support global mobility programmes requiring accommodation for extended periods.
  • Contribute to the annual review of the travel policy, providing insight on emerging market trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive sustainability and ensure travel industry changes are understood and implemented as needed.
  • Work closely with procurement to manage the regional hotel program and negotiate airline and other travel programmes.
  • Ensure the TMC is informed of travel policy changes and implement them as required.
  • Develop and provide regular and ad-hoc MI reports and dashboards to support management in driving compliance with policy and managing travel costs.
  • Provide expert narrative to support management in interpreting MI reports and data.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting, tax reviews, and reporting, as well as company mobile roaming charge management and physical security team activities.
  • Build and maintain a traveller and booker champion community to promote continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Expense and Control Lead to post travel costs to the finance ledgers, reconcile travel credit cards, and identify potential anomalies.
