Vallum Associates Seeks Executive Director of Pricing Strategy

Vallum Associates, a leading provider of innovative solutions, is seeking an experienced Executive Director of Pricing Strategy to lead and grow their Pricing function. This role will be based in a hybrid work environment, with a competitive salary and bonus structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive pricing strategy, including policy development, tool suite management, inflation studies, and control processes.
  • Manage a team of actuaries to support the underwriting referrals workflow, ensuring timely delivery of standard and bespoke pricing models.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure accurate and effective pricing models, and defend pricing decisions to senior management and capital providers as required.
  • Oversee the exposure management process to ensure catastrophe risk is understood, managed in line with agreed risk appetite, and reflected in decision making.
  • Monitor account performance and market conditions, sharing insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Explore novel data sources, alternative analytical tools, and techniques to further innovate on internal approaches.

Requirements

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven management experience, with expertise in negotiating, prioritizing, and delegating, and building and optimizing control processes.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership, challenge the business, and coach and manage the performance of the analyst team.
  • Embodies a commercial mindset and fosters a culture of integrity, accountability, high-performance, and teamwork.
  • Experience in using programming languages such as SQL, Python, and VBA.
