Job Title: Exterior Design Specialist

Location: Central London

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

As a leading construction recruitment agency, we are partnering with a prestigious façade specialist subcontractor to find an experienced Exterior Design Specialist to join their team. This company operates on high-end projects in various market sectors, including residential developments, private residences, hotels, spas, historic buildings, and boutiques for prestigious brands.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design façade solutions for various building projects, ensuring aesthetic appeal, functionality, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate façade designs seamlessly with overall building plans.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and specifications for façade systems using design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements, provide technical support, and ensure quality control during the construction phase.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, materials, and technologies in façade design.
  • Prepare and present design proposals to clients, ensuring their vision and requirements are met.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets, timelines, and feasibility studies.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to health and safety regulations and sustainability standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in façade design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous projects.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of building physics, materials science, and structural engineering principles as they relate to façades.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics and design.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local building regulations and standards in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Experience with sustainable design practices and green building certifications.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations (e.g., RIBA, CIBSE).
  • Familiarity with parametric design tools such as Grasshopper.
