About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Night Support Worker to join our team at Look Ahead Care Support and Housing. As a Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the continuity of our support service at night and maintaining a safe environment for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build supportive and trusting relationships with customers, creating a positive atmosphere and promoting their independence.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities.
  • Conduct key work sessions, using innovative and engaging approaches to achieve Support Plan goals.
  • Ensure ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers, adopting a positive risk-taking attitude.
  • Support customers and colleagues during incidents, responding calmly and professionally, and completing incident reports.
  • Provide practical assistance to support customers with daily living activities, such as budgeting, cooking, and establishing a night-time routine.
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness and hygiene at the service, including cleaning staff offices, communal areas, and disposing of refuse.
  • Assist in recording and reporting customer incidents, and documenting support provided.
  • Develop productive relationships with partner organizations to improve service outcomes.
  • Adhere to lone working protocols and maintain high levels of awareness regarding the health and safety of yourself and colleagues.
  • Involving customers in the design, development, and delivery of the service.
  • Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies and local protocols are adhered to at all times.
  • Take on shift leading responsibilities, coordinating and leading shifts in the absence of a manager.
  • Be responsible for the handover of key information between shifts.
  • Adhere to all other Look Ahead policies and procedures.
  • Engage in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent with some previous relevant sector work experience.
