ACADEMICS is a leading education provider seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join our team in Waltham Forest, London.

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a permanent full-time contract and opportunities for growth and development.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as managing a team of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) working directly with SEND students.

You will also be required to support the SEMH needs of SEND students, advocate for students with SEND, and ensure compliance with national and local legislation regarding SEND.

  • Advocating for students with SEND
  • Ensuring compliance with national and local legislation regarding SEND

Our ideal candidate will possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and additional SENCO qualifications or a willingness to undertake training. You will have experience in supporting children with a range of SEN, ideally in a primary school setting, and a strong understanding of the SEND code of practice.

Above all, you will be an effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals.
