Salary:


£35,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.


Job Description:


As a Transformative Student Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students who may be experiencing challenges in their academic and personal lives. Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored support to students, helping them to build positive relationships with their peers and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and other support staff.
  • Mentor students on a one-on-one or small group basis, helping them set personal goals, build self-esteem, and develop positive coping strategies.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behavior by implementing proactive techniques and addressing disruptive behaviors.
  • Encourage positive relationships among students, promoting respect, cooperation, and empathy in all interactions.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students' needs.
  • Record and monitor students' progress, regularly assessing the effectiveness of interventions and adapting strategies as necessary.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


This role requires an individual with a strong understanding of behavior management techniques and de-escalation strategies. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient, empathetic, and supportive approach. Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or counseling are highly desirable. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges is beneficial.
