Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Community Support Specialist to join our team in Cheshire & Merseyside. As a key member of our Casework Services, you will be responsible for managing casework and providing direct support, advice, and guidance to beneficiaries on various issues including health, social care, employment, benefits, statutory support, and housing.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our beneficiaries. You will assess their needs, collaborate with regional specialist teams, and external service providers to ensure effective support delivery. Your role will also involve developing creative solutions, drawing on contributions from volunteers, members, and branches to meet beneficiaries' unique needs.

You will work closely with the Casework Services Manager and Head of Welfare to identify local beneficiary needs, helping shape the commissioning of specialist services. Additionally, you will advise beneficiaries on available support, assist them in accessing required services, while maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of statutory benefits.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage casework and provide direct support, advice, and guidance to beneficiaries.
  • Assess beneficiary needs and collaborate with specialist teams and external service providers.
  • Develop creative solutions to meet beneficiaries' unique needs.
  • Work closely with the Casework Services Manager and Head of Welfare to identify local needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of statutory benefits and advise beneficiaries accordingly.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A driving license (essential).
  • The ability to travel regularly around Cheshire & Merseyside for internal meetings and visiting beneficiaries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong understanding of welfare benefits and related legislation.

Salary and Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave.
