Autism Specialist Support Worker

Beacon Support Ltd. is seeking a Specialist Mentor to support Higher Education students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). The role offers flexible hours and a competitive hourly rate of £30-£40, plus a generous holiday entitlement.

The Specialist Mentor will assist students in learning coping strategies and techniques to overcome their disability-related difficulties. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, organisational skills, and flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one support to students with ASC
  • Assisting students in developing coping strategies and techniques
  • Working collaboratively with students, staff, and other professionals to ensure effective support

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with students in higher or further education
  • Training in autism and ASC, such as NAS 6 modules and NADP Working Effectively with Autistic University Students course
  • Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a related field
