About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Support Worker at iMap Centre Limited. As a key member of our education and care team, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students with complex needs arising from autism, behavioural and learning difficulties.

Our school is based on a beautiful site in Cheshire, offering a unique and supportive environment for our students to thrive. You will work closely with our experienced staff to provide individualized support, helping our students to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with their learning and development
  • Assisting with the implementation of individualized education plans
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to students
  • Working collaboratively with the education and care team to ensure a holistic approach to student support

Essential Skills

· Qualifications and Professional Development (Desirable)

· Level 2 or Level 3 in Teaching and Learning or equivalent

· Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people both orally and in writing

· Ability to think out of the box and adapt the learning for each pupil

· Well-organized and self-motivated

· Confident user of IT as a work tool

· Good interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively in a team of people and agencies

· Ability to work collaboratively

· Ability to demonstrate appropriate knowledge of:

· Current Disability/SEN theory and practice particularly linked to Autism

· Safeguarding and child protection frameworks

· Relevant legal and scrutiny frameworks

· Inclusive approaches to raise attendance, attainment, and achievement
