Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Directorate Clinical Quality Governance Teams as a Patient Safety Incident Response Lead. This exciting opportunity will enable you to have a greater impact on patient safety and improve the way we respond to and learn from incidents.
As part of this role, you will oversee the Directorate patient safety incident response process, tracking learning responses from Initial Service Manager Review through Incident Review and Learning Meetings to completion. You will work across a range of clinical services, broadening your knowledge of the Directorate and building valuable networks.
The Directorate Clinical Quality Governance Teams will provide training, regular supervision, and support to rapidly upskill successful candidates. This secondment/fixed-term post offers the opportunity to develop sought-after, transferable new skills and broaden your knowledge in readiness for future progression.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
We are looking for individuals with a passion for patient safety and great people skills, as all our incident learning responses must meaningfully involve patients, families, and staff. You will support and advise patient safety investigators through regular check-ins, ensuring that investigations and reports are comprehensive, adhere to LPT's Report Writing Standards, and are completed on time.
You will ensure early escalation of risks identified through the investigation process to the Head of Nursing and ensure that areas for improvement and associated actions effectively mitigate risks identified. You will liaise with the Legal Team regarding report readiness for the coroners and ensure learning through this process informs LPT's responses and improvement cycle.
