Job Summary

The Heart and Lung Transplant Transformation Programme is a comprehensive initiative established by NHS England to review and improve cardiothoracic transplant services. As a National Specialty Advisor, you will play a crucial role in driving transformation and providing clinical advice to support the commissioning and quality improvement of pathways at a national level.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical advice and leadership to drive transformation of services for patients
  • Support the commissioning of services and quality improvement of pathways
  • Lead change within English Cardiothoracic Transplant centres
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join NHS England Specialised Commissioning and contribute to the development of a comprehensive transformation programme. As a senior leader, you will work closely with stakeholders across NHS England, Trusts, and NHS regional partners to deliver outputs and shape the programme's ambitions.

  • Stakeholder engagement: Represent your organisation or profession by working with patient groups, key community, political or industry stakeholders on a high-profile or contentious change issue
  • Credibility: Provide evidence of your credibility within your own service area, demonstrating visible and credible leadership in specific service areas
  • Transformation: Apply your clinical management skills to deliver service-level quality improvement and transformation, reducing health inequalities and improving diversity and inclusion in the workplace
  • Leadership: Describe your leadership experience, specifically in relation to clinical management and/or professional leadership
  • Collaboration: Demonstrate your experience of collaborative leadership, leading across organisational and/or professional boundaries
