About the Role

The National Specialty Advisor will provide clinical advice and leadership to the Heart & Lung Transplant Transformation Programme, driving transformation of services for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical advice to support the commissioning and quality improvement of pathways at a national level.
  • Lead the development of the programme's ambitions and shape outputs, including tools and approaches that enable change.
  • Deliver outputs with the programme team, working with stakeholders across NHS England, Trusts, and NHS regional partners.
  • Be accountable for certain programme workstreams, their deliverables, and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the definition of programme outcome measures.
  • Support the programme team in wider work across the Heart & Lung transplant programme.
Requirements
  • Experience as a senior leader within UK heart transplant services.
  • Ability to provide visible and credible leadership in specific service areas.
  • Proven track record of applying clinical management skills to deliver service-level quality improvement and transformation.
  • Experience of collaborative leadership, leading across organisational and/or professional boundaries.
