**Job Title:** Community Development Professional

About the role:

This role involves working closely with our Benefits Team to administer Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, and Discretionary Housing Payment applications. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in this area of the Public Sector through a Level 4 Apprenticeship provided by the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation.

We are a small team that works collaboratively but also alongside other teams, such as Housing, Homelessness, and Council Tax, to provide exceptional support to members of our community who require assistance with rent and council tax costs.

**Requirements:*

  • A genuine interest in Local Government and helping residents of Rugby
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • A good standard of education, including Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above
  • Practical experience with ICT systems, including MS Office, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Good written and oral communication skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse individuals
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, use personal initiative, and take responsibility for individual tasks
  • The capacity to work under pressure in a performance-managed environment
