About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at South West Water. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our water treatment works, pumping stations, and service reservoirs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to the highest standard of workmanship
  • Provide recommended specifications of parts for ordering and undertaking repairs
  • Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment as required
  • Undertake training to ensure safe and legal work practices
  • Assist operational staff with complex problem resolution
  • Keep internal customers informed of activities impacting their processes
  • Use or request method statements and safe systems of work for activities
  • Act as duty Mechanical Craftperson on a standby/call-out rota basis
Requirements
  • Completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
  • Full understanding of related RAMS for effective and safe maintenance
  • Desirable experience of working with wastewater treatment processes
  • Ability to fault find and repair complex mechanical equipment
