Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at South West Water. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our water treatment works, pumping stations, and service reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to the highest standard of workmanship
- Provide recommended specifications of parts for ordering and undertaking repairs
- Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment as required
- Undertake training to ensure safe and legal work practices
- Assist operational staff with complex problem resolution
- Keep internal customers informed of activities impacting their processes
- Use or request method statements and safe systems of work for activities
- Act as duty Mechanical Craftperson on a standby/call-out rota basis
- Completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
- Full understanding of related RAMS for effective and safe maintenance
- Desirable experience of working with wastewater treatment processes
- Ability to fault find and repair complex mechanical equipment
