Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at South West Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our water treatment works, pumping stations, and service reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Provide technical specifications for parts and equipment to support maintenance activities
- Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment as required
- Undertake training and development to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Assist operational staff with complex problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Communicate with internal customers to ensure effective maintenance planning and execution
- Develop and implement safe systems of work and method statements for maintenance activities
- Act as the duty Mechanical Craftperson on a standby/call-out rota basis
- Completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
- Strong understanding of related RAMS and safety protocols
- Experience working with wastewater treatment processes (desirable)
- Ability to fault-find and repair complex mechanical equipment
