About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Maternity Outpatients Administrator to join our team at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for the Maternity Outpatients and Scan Department, providing administrative support and clerical services.
  • Liaise with patients, relatives, clinicians, and medical secretaries to ensure a high level of service is provided.
  • Book and outcome appointments, maintain clinic lists electronically, and respond to telephone calls from anxious and distressed patients.
  • Communicate effectively with a range of people at different levels in the organization, being flexible and self-motivated.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 business administration or customer services, or equivalent level of experience.
  • Proven experience of working in an admin/receptionist setting.
  • Desirable: previous NHS experience, knowledge of NHS systems, and ability to deal with complex and sensitive matters with tact.
