We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housing Officer to join our team at Look Ahead. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our residential services, including managing rent arrears, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage rent accounts, ensuring timely payments and minimizing arrears
- Utilize computerized rent systems to track and record information, identifying priorities and updating records as necessary
- Liaise with housing benefit departments, the Department of Work and Pensions, and other external agencies to resolve benefit-related issues
- Conduct health and safety checks, ensuring compliance with Look Ahead's policies and procedures
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge
- Undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by management
- Extensive knowledge of welfare benefits, particularly housing benefit
- Experience in housing management, including rent arrears management and computerized rent systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and external agencies
- High levels of emotional resilience and a positive attitude, with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
