About the Role

We're seeking a skilled and experienced professional to help identify and shape the future portfolio of projects in our western region. As a Business Development Manager, you'll work closely with our senior team to generate, maintain, and share market knowledge and intelligence. You'll also be responsible for developing and sharing a database of potential opportunities, and ensuring that our Pre-Construction team understands PQQ/SQ requirements.

Responsibilities

  1. Identify, create, source, and develop tender and negotiated opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
  2. Maintain a database of potential opportunities and share it with the team.
  3. Develop and share market knowledge and intelligence, including anticipating customer needs and competitor activities.
  4. Assist with relationship management, written responses, and presentations throughout the project.
  5. Conduct customer satisfaction surveys at the end of the project to gather feedback and improve processes.
  6. Develop and manage potential corporate entertainment events and attend professional dinners on behalf of BAM.
  7. Maintain project databases to ensure knowledge is shared easily and quickly.
  8. Input into the regional business plan and BAM Construct marketing plan.
  9. Contribute to national and strategic business development activity.
  10. Build positive relationships internally and externally to achieve successful outcomes.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, plus a significant benefits package including an electric car or car allowance, contributory pension, BUPA, life assurance, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), gym subsidy, and more.

To succeed in this role, you'll need a proven ability to build positive relationships, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the construction industry. You'll also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a flexible approach to working hours.
