Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Outpatients Administration Leader to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the administration team and ensuring the smooth operation of outpatient services.

Main Responsibilities:

The Outpatients Administration Leader will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to the outpatient department, including managing patient records and correspondence
  • Coordinating the scheduling of outpatient appointments and procedures
  • Ensuring the effective use of resources and managing budgets
  • Developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures
  • Leading and managing a team of administrative staff

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Relevant formal NHS leadership courses or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting demands
  • Strong leadership and management skills

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of managerial best practice
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, staff, and colleagues

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
