Job Description: Outpatient and Inpatient Access Coordinator

Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a major NHS teaching trust, providing a wide range of general and specialist clinical services. We are seeking an experienced Outpatient and Inpatient Access Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the waiting list officers, elective access officers, outpatient receptionists, and clinic prep assistants within the Directorate. They will work closely with clinicians and administrative staff to implement effective processes and procedures, and provide expert analysis using various tools and databases to monitor and forecast performance.

About the Role:

  • Oversee the practical management of outpatient and inpatient waiting lists, working closely with the Directorate to ensure waiting list improvements and national targets are achieved.
  • Provide support and line management of the outpatient and inpatient booking teams ensuring optimum utilisation of clinic and theatre capacity.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Patient Tracking List (PTL) across the Directorate, ensuring best practice is applied in line with national recommendations.
  • Participate in the assessment of capacity and demand within the Trust, to include clinic room allocation and theatre utilisation.
