Job Description
This role involves working within a designated inpatient area, supporting adult inpatient wards within that area. The successful candidate will ensure that service users and carers have assessments under the Care Act 2014 and will support the provision of services to meet identified eligible needs. They will also provide expertise for inpatient staff regarding Adult and Children's Safeguarding responsibilities. The post holder will demonstrate skills to maintain their Social Work professional identity when working within an inpatient environment.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting service users to identify their needs and assisting the mental health social worker to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care and support plans. They will also work as part of a team under the direction of the mental health social worker to focus on the direct needs of service users, working across boundaries of care, organization, and role, coordinated through the Care Programme Approach, Care Act 2014, and s.7(6A) MHA 1983. The post holder will help ensure the service user understands and has a clear pathway of care across sector/agency boundaries with key contact points/named individuals. They will support service users to engage effectively with the agreed CPA and care and support plans and access appropriate services.
Qualification and Experience
The successful candidate will need to have a professional qualification in social work (Degree or equivalent) and post-graduate education specifically relating to client group (Post-basic qualification in community care/research awareness/management). They should also possess experience working in community settings and with mental health populations. A car driver's license is also essential for this role.

Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
