About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Arts and Culture to join our team at the Association of Academic Museums & Galleries. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to promote the arts and culture within our museum.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing and communications, with experience in developing and executing strategic plans to engage diverse audiences. You will work closely with our curatorial and audience engagement teams to ensure seamless communication of our museum's mission and values.

A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Art History, English, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in marketing and communications. Experience in arts and culture organizations is preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to promote the arts and culture
  • Managing and maintaining the museum's website and social media presence
  • Coordinating public relations efforts, including writing and distributing press releases
  • Collaborating with the curatorial and audience engagement teams to develop engaging content
  • Supervising and supporting the Communications Coordinator

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year.
