The Association of Academic Museums & Galleries seeks an experienced professional to oversee its Asian art collection. This role involves managing the museum's diverse Asian art holdings, participating in exhibition-related programming, conducting research, and maintaining records.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the museum's Asian art collection
- Participation in collection- and exhibition-related programming
- Conducting research and developing programs
- Maintenance of accurate records
- Monitoring collection care and providing recommendations
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Asian art history and culture or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within the museum and college community
- Demonstrated knowledge of the exhibition process and ability to communicate with diverse audiences
- A proven record of scholarly research in Asian art and culture, particularly East Asian art
- Proficiency in at least one Asian language (fluency preferred)
Estimated Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
