Supplier Development Engineer

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global leader in manufacturing switchgear and associated products for mission-critical and live commercial buildings. To support our high-performing teams, we're seeking a Supplier Development Engineer located in Blackburn.

Reporting to the Senior Strategic Supply Chain Manager, you will focus on supplier development, providing cross-functional support to select, approve, and develop suppliers that meet customer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select suitable suppliers through joint efforts with sourcing on aspects of quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environment, and social regulation.
  • Implement new supplier qualification through the process of capability matching, supplier risk assessment, supplier self-assessment, onsite qualification audit, and qualification database management.
  • Understand customer drawings and specifications to provide value-added engineering proposals to customers and suppliers for optimization of supplier manufacturing processes or products.
  • Track new qualified parts quality performance to ensure they meet customer quality requirements in the pilot run phase.
  • Rate and track supplier performance and drive supplier continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in supplier management.
  • Strong experience in working within a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing company.
  • Quality qualification is an advantage.
