About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Advisor to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a key member of our Fleet Services department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate and oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are properly serviced and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure that we are getting the best value for money for our maintenance and repair needs.
  • Cost Control: Monitor and control costs associated with vehicle maintenance and repair, identifying areas for cost reduction and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to drivers and operators, as well as other team members, to ensure that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Breakdown Management: Coordinate and manage roadside breakdowns, ensuring that vehicles are repaired or replaced as quickly as possible to minimize downtime.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with drivers, operators, and other stakeholders to ensure that all parties are informed and up-to-date on vehicle maintenance and repair activities.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, with a strong understanding of HGV vehicle maintenance and repair principles.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance and repair, such as a City & Guilds qualification in HGV vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications, such as a HGV vehicle maintenance and repair certification.
