Job Overview

TechBio Talent is seeking a highly experienced Director of Bioinformatics to lead their data science operations as they navigate their clinical phase of development.

This individual will work with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate infrastructure and storage requirements, develop pipelines, and apply machine learning approaches. The main priority for this position is to lead on the analysis of key omics datasets from clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive strategy across the group, providing leadership to a team of technically strong individuals
  • Lead internally and present externally on developments
  • Enhance the world-leading microbiome profiling platform through functional analytics, machine learning, and transcriptomics
  • Lead on analysis of clinical trial datasets

Requirements:

  • Extensive track record working across bioinformatics and genomics
  • Experience operating in the microbiome space
  • Experience analysing clinical trial datasets or large genomic datasets
  • Experience in cloud computing, infrastructure, and data storage
  • Effective people leader with the ability to develop strategy long-term and support a team in continuing to develop cutting-edge advancements
  • Experience operating in a biotech environment, contributing to pipeline development

This position will be hybrid, with the ideal candidate spending 3 days per week at their site in Cambridge. This is a key leadership position for the business, offering a competitive package.
