Job Title: Deputy Director of Transformation and Sustainability

As a key member of the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust, the Deputy Director of Transformation and Sustainability will play a pivotal role in driving forward cost, quality, social, and environmental improvement projects. This role will focus on delivering the Trust and EFP divisional strategic objectives, working closely with colleagues across the Trust, ICS, and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in transformation, change, project management, and sustainability, with experience in mobilizing and running complex projects in the health sector. They will be responsible for managing the Transformation and Sustainability team, leading on employee relations issues, and making operational and strategic decisions affecting the delivery of the service.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, including influencing, negotiating, motivating, and stakeholder management. They will be able to effectively manage others, manage and negotiate difficult relationships, and ensure that programme objectives are not unduly compromised.

The Deputy Director of Transformation and Sustainability will be responsible for developing and implementing policies specific to the Transformation and Sustainability service, reviewing and updating existing policies, and ensuring appropriate implementation. They will also be responsible for carrying out research and development activities to support EFP service change and transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Transformation and Sustainability team and lead on employee relations issues
  • Make operational and strategic decisions affecting the delivery of the service
  • Develop and implement policies specific to the Transformation and Sustainability service
  • Carry out research and development activities to support EFP service change and transformation
  • Effectively communicate financial cost improvement information with the Head of Transformation and Sustainability, EFP service leads, Divisional Management Team, and the Trust Project Management Office
