Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Materials Management Assistant to join our team at Your World Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our Central Procurement team, you will be responsible for providing a professional and customer-focused Materials Management service to all user departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Materials Management Service: Provide a high-quality Materials Management service to all user departments, ensuring that all materials are procured, stored, and distributed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and update online catalogues, producing barcodes for all replenished products and implementing amendments and changes in a timely manner.
  • Cost Savings: Identify and explore opportunities for potential cost savings for the Trust, while maintaining quality standards, in liaison with senior and clinical colleagues.
  • Stock Level Reviews: Assist with stock level reviews of Materials Management products at department level, running reports to support the review process.
  • Training and Development: Undertake competency training with the wider Materials Management team in system operation and requirements.
  • Product Rationalization: Support rationalization and standardization of medical and surgical products.
  • Customer Support: Support customers with any product changes or shortages, ensuring that all queries are resolved promptly and efficiently.
  • Product Recalls: Enable high-urgency product recalls following safety alerts.
  • Stock Removal: Assist with the removal, return, or disposal of excess or redundant stock.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate electronic records and filing systems, providing support for other associated duties.
  • Communication: Ensure communication of information within the Materials Management team and share best practice operationally, acting and participating as a member of the wider Central Procurement team.
