Job Description

Primary Purpose

  • This role is responsible for coordinating the process of collecting, evaluating, and improving technical information and documentation for automation projects and products. This ensures the readiness of technical publications and training packages for Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Inc. and dealer service organizations.
  • The incumbent collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and develop robust spare part solutions, including new, remanufactured, and repaired parts.
  • They serve as the primary contact and knowledge base for automated products, providing technical support to internal, dealer, and supplier personnel.
  • The Automation Systems Specialist collaborates with procurement to define and maintain service level agreements for suppliers of automated systems and follows up on technical warranty claims.
  • They work closely with the Product Improvement Engineering Team to enhance product quality.
  • The role involves delivering technical training classes and programs for dealers, customers, and internal personnel on automated systems.
  • They create troubleshooting guidelines and ensure diagnostic tools are available at the required locations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the development and improvement of automated systems, including troubleshooting guidelines and diagnostic tools availability.
  • Collect and collaborate on the development of global technical training packages and publications for automated systems.
  • Deliver service training on automated systems and related technology.
  • Define spare parts strategies and support the creation of RSPLs.
  • Communicate with dealers and stakeholders.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Preferred bachelor's or master's degree from a technical university (electronics, automotive, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong technology and product knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • English and one other European language required, spoken and written.
