About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at Break Charity in Bury St Edmunds. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on support to young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Act as a senior shift worker, leading the staff team and making decisions to ensure the smooth operation of the service.
  • Line manage support workers, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to build strong relationships with young people, their families, and other professionals.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable young people, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Qualifications in childcare or a related field, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • A valid manual driving license and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
