About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Care Specialist to join our team at Dorset Councils. This is a full-time position, requiring 37 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to children and young people in need of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of new Supported Lodgings Hosts and ensure they receive the necessary training and ongoing support.
  • Complete statutory visits every 6 weeks, maintaining accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Provide consistent support and supervision to Supported Lodgings Hosts, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Contribute to the development of the service by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
About You
  • You hold a degree in social work or equivalent and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • You possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality written reports and meet deadlines.
  • You are committed to safeguarding and the well-being of young people, ensuring all concerns are escalated appropriately.

The estimated salary for this position is £28,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role requires significant travel, so you must have a vehicle available for use as needed.
