About the Role

The Church of England is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Head of Property and Asset Management. This is a critical position that requires a strong understanding of property management, asset development, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic management of the Church's assets, including property development and management, to maximize income and capital returns.
  • Oversee the management of the Church's housing stock and Glebe land, ensuring good quality clergy accommodation and effective management of rental income.
  • Work closely with the Property Services Team to ensure maintenance and improvements are performed within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Provide high-level advice to parishes on property matters, particularly in cases where the Church acts as custodian trustee.
  • Manage the property budget, taking part in budget reviews and budget setting in partnership with the Director of Finance and Finance & Assets Committee.
Requirements
  • MRICS qualified or equivalent experience in property management and asset development.
  • Proven leadership experience in strategic property development and resource planning.
  • Strong understanding of property law and experience in planning, managing, and reviewing substantial budgets.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the Diocese and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
