About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Endocrinology Specialist to join our team at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Endocrinology and Diabetes service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide endocrine, bone, and diabetes clinical services for outpatients, inpatients, and support our existing sub-specialty services.
  • Support all aspects of intensified diabetes management, including insulin pump management, education sessions, and HbA1c target clinics with extra support for children and young people.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the national severe complex OI service and metabolic bone service and metabolic bone disease research studies.
Requirements
  • Medical Degree from a recognised University
  • CCT in Paediatrics and training in Endocrinology to tertiary level as defined by BSPED, or shall have equivalent experience and competencies
  • Child protection Level 3 training
  • Basic Life Support
Desirable Qualifications
  • Higher Degree (MD/PhD etc)
  • Specialist training and experience in Osteogenesis Imperfecta and metabolic bone disease
  • APLS
Eligibility
  • Full GMC registration
  • GMC specialist registration (or within 6 months of obtaining CCT) in Paediatrics and Endocrinology (or recognised equivalent if outside the UK)
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
