We are seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our team in Tarleton, Lancashire.

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people with complex needs.

The successful candidate will lead and plan their team on shift, taking responsibility for supervision of staff, conducting supervisions, and updating on progress or difficulties.

You will act as a key worker for specified individual young people, ensuring their medical needs are met, and supporting them to advocate their own needs and wishes.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires resilience, a natural caring and supportive nature, and the ability to remain calm when faced with difficult situations.

About Exceptional Care

We provide therapeutic children's services, offering care and support to young people aged 8-17 from complex backgrounds who display challenging behaviour and EBD.

Our approach is rooted in attachment theory and trauma-informed practices, with a focus on developing good communicative relationships with the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring each young person has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning.
  • Support and participate in young people's social, educational, and recreational activities.
  • Liaise with other agencies and professionals as necessary.
  • Record information about young people and ensure effective communication with staff members.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • 2 years' experience supporting young people in a children's residential setting.
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence (preferred).
