Location: Head Office (Near Aylesbury)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our horticultural operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the aftercare and horticulture department, setting the direction and overseeing the operation of aftercare within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the aftercare and horticulture department, ensuring a smooth and seamless delivery of services to clients.
  • Develop and implement strategies and systems for improving operational efficiency, including the use of technology and software.
  • Visit sites regularly to monitor work quality and identify opportunities for upselling.
  • Meet and communicate with clients regularly to ensure satisfaction with services received.
  • Deal with enquiries for new work and prepare quotations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage administration and invoicing processes, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided to finance and administration teams.
  • Promote a culture within the department that reflects the company's values and purpose.
  • Ensure the department has the appropriate level of staff to run profitably, with enough capacity for holiday and sickness cover.
  • Work with directors and others to formulate strategy for the department and develop marketing strategies for the aftercare business.
  • Develop a strategy for reducing carbon emissions for the department.
  • Set budgets for the year with the Managing Director.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing horticultural operations and teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies for improving operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices and industry trends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
