Company Overview: First Base is a dynamic and growing organization seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to provide administrative support to our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling incoming mail, processing invoices, and inputting data into accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming mail, process invoices, and input data into accounting software.
  • Address supplier inquiries and manage overdue customer accounts through phone and email communications.
  • Assist colleagues with questions regarding invoice statuses and payment schedules.
  • Ensure timely payment of supplier invoices according to agreed terms.
  • Send customer statements via email.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for both suppliers and customers.
  • Document daily financial transactions.
  • Input data, maintain records, and generate financial reports and statements.
  • Oversee employee expense reimbursements.
  • Undertake additional administrative tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with accounting software (preference for Xero).
  • Strong grasp of fundamental finance and accounts payable/receivable concepts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities.
  • Strong mathematical skills and comfort with large datasets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (essential).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated with a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility for your role.
  • High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
