About the Role

We are seeking a highly effective and conscientious Learning Assistant to support our children with special educational needs (SEN) in our school. This post is linked to external funding and will cease if the child leaves the setting or the funding ends.

In this role, you will work closely with our teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils with complex needs. You will help create a safe and inclusive learning environment that allows all children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, enabling them to access the curriculum and make progress.
  • To assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, using your expertise to tailor activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • To maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • To participate in regular team meetings to discuss pupil progress and share best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of SEN and the importance of providing personalized support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of individual pupils.
  • A willingness to learn and develop your skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
