**Job Description:** Child and Family Support Practitioner

About the Job

We are seeking a skilled practitioner to join our team as a Child and Family Support Practitioner. In this role, you will work with children and young people, their parents and carers to develop strategies for preventing school exclusions.

Using a restorative coaching methodology, you will enable young people to make informed decisions about their personal development, behaviour, welfare and mental health.

This is a fixed-term role, and we are looking for someone who can commit to working with us until March 2026.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with schools' leadership teams and Healthy Schools Engagement workers to provide targeted support to enable Essex schools to develop strategies for supporting vulnerable pupils.
  • Develop and implement co-produced action plans with children, young people and their families to enhance their emotional resilience.
  • Facilitate professional development for school support staff, students and teachers on trauma-informed practices.
  • Coach and support teachers and support staff in integrating evidence-based interventions into their classrooms.

**Estimated Salary:** £28,875 - £30,000 per annum

**Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in working therapeutically with children and young people with emotional health needs.
  • Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
