Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer

We are collaborating with a Local Authority in Hillingdon to fill a Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer position on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension at the client's discretion. To be considered, please submit your CV for immediate review.

Rate of Pay: £20.00 - £25.13 per Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • The post-holder will be responsible for proactively delivering housing options advice, including security of tenure, low cost home ownership, preventing homelessness, investigating household circumstances, and undertaking statutory assessments to determine the best options and resources available on a case-by-case basis.
  • The post holder will ensure statutory requirements are met and local team targets are delivered through case work.
  • To actively support the management of the service, delivering a professional, responsive, and individualized service to Hillingdon residents requiring housing advice and exploring and sign-posting to housing options.
  • Be able to provide advice on a range of housing options, including low cost home ownership, which promotes self-service, independence, and prevents homelessness.

Requirements:

  • Hold an appropriate qualification in a relevant field: NVQ, Diploma, relevant degree, or relevant experience.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
  • Experience of working in a front-facing team, interviewing, and assessing clients with a need for assistance.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at short notice.
  • You should have the right to work in the U.K.
  • This role requires an enhanced DBS.
