About this role
UNISON, the UK's largest trade union, is seeking an Assistant National Officer to join its Health Service Group team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the industrial relations programme for occupational therapy activists, developing digital, research, and data analysis capacity, and supporting policy and campaign initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee campaigns and projects run through national committees and branches, including fighting workplace discrimination and inequality.
- Support the running of discrete negotiations within the NHS Staff Council work programme.
- Engage with policymakers on health workforce issues, including through the NHS Social Partnership Forum.
- Commission and conduct research, providing analysis of data to inform policy positions.
Requirements
- Good digital, research, and technical skills to develop reports, tools, and visual representations of data.
- Excellent communication skills in person, in writing, and over social media.
- Ability to share and/or develop expertise in policy or industrial relations issues for staff employed in the health service.
