An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our busy Ultrasound department for the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team based at Ipswich Hospital as a Clerical Officer. Working hours will be full time, 37 hours per week.
In this role, you will provide an efficient, high-quality reception and clerical support service to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team, including booking appointments.
As you will be dealing with patients and the general public, you must have a polite telephone manner and be approachable.
Main duties of the jobYou will be working as part of a team of staff who:
- Deal with referrals and booking patient appointments on the Computerised Radiology Information System (CRIS)
- Handle telephone enquiries from patients, GPs, and the wider MDT team
- Support the Sonographers in the scanning room when required, with duties such as cleaning and chaperoning.
- Previous experience in an office environment
- Proven experience working on a reception, booking appointments, waiting list targets.
- Knowledge of RTT 18 week pathways, 28 Day Faster Diagnostics
- GCSE Grade C standard or equivalent in Maths and English.
- NVQ2 in Customer Care
- ECDL or equivalent
- Competence in the use of various computer software packages including Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Use of CRIS Radiology system
- Able to demonstrate working knowledge of confidentiality issues
- Use of Hospital systems Lorenzo, Evolve
- Microsoft Office programmes.
- Understanding of basic medical terminology
