Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our Women & Children's Directorate at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will provide a highly specialist clinical pharmacy service, ensuring high quality, safe, effective, legal, and accurate use of medicines within the specialty.

The post holder will lead on the provision of parenteral nutrition for paediatrics and neonates, maintain a regular clinical commitment to both women and paediatric wards, and provide information support for division and specialist pharmacists.

The Senior Pharmacist will work closely with senior clinicians to determine medicines-related cost pressures and monitor prescribing practice.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the provision of general paediatrics and the education and training of the internal team.
  • Provide a highly specialist clinical pharmacy service within the Women & Children's Directorate.
  • Maintain a regular clinical commitment to both women and paediatric wards.

  • External Personnel working within the W&C field
  • External Personnel with whom the Trust has an SLA to provide services for the Trust

Job Requirements:
  • Participate in other areas of clinical pharmacy practice to ensure a broad base of pharmaceutical knowledge.
  • Participate in weekend/public holiday and on-call rotas.
  • Assist the Department in the production of ward and on-call rotas.
  • Practice in accordance with the Code of Ethics of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Person Specification:
  • Women's and Children's experience as a registered pharmacist.
  • Experience working in hospital pharmacy, including providing clinical pharmacy services.
  • Experience in training healthcare professionals.
  • Implementing research into practice.
  • Supervision of staff.
  • Paediatric/NICU TPN experience.
  • Clinical pharmacy certificate or relevant experience.
  • Variety of clinical practice to include Women and Children's experience.
  • MSc. in Clinical Pharmacy.
